Dear Heroic Racer

VISIT TO RTN NORFOLK FRIDAY 17 CTOBER 2003 AT 11.00AM
I am delighted that you are joining us for the visit to Race Technology, Norfolk this coming Friday.
RTN as you probably know, is the race preparation arm of Richard Lloyd Racing.
Richard some years ago created an Endurance programme for an unnamed client and had a race machine on the drawing board that he felt was light years ahead of the opposition. For various reasons, that programme never proceeded, but when he was approached by Bentley Motors in 2000 to consider running their race programme commencing in 2001, he was able to produce a highly competitive package with barely six months notice.
In the 2001 Le Mans race, they led from the flag, running first and third, then first and second before rain ruined the number one car driven by Brundle. The number two car finished third behind the Audis, a remarkable achievement with so little time and almost no wet testing.
In 2002, they managed a fourth, again behind the Audis, but this year they trounced the entire field, running first and second from flag to flag.
The credit for this historic achievement goes entirely to Richard and his all British Team.
It is this race setup and the cars they make which we are invited to see. I hope all the Bentleys from the last three years will be there, but at the time of arranging this visit, no word has yet come from Bentley Motors about their future plans.
I attach a map showing how to get to the works, but if you have trouble finding it on the day, please call me on either [Telephone number removed] or [Telephone number removed].
I look forward to seeing you at 11.00am at Hingham.
Following our visit, we will look for a friendly all-day pub and get mildly drunk.
Kind regards
Philip |
